The Red Sox is not having a good road trip this time around, as they trail the 10 game road trip 4-1 to the Seattle Mariners, after losing the game on last Tuesday by 4-3. Manny Ramirez inched very close to join the elite 500 homer club as he scored his 499th homer in the game. The worse thing for the Red Sox was that their ace Japanese pitcher Dice-K had to leave midway through the game due to a shoulder strain. The Red Sox will have to play real tough in the sixth game in order to not only impress their fans but also to make this road trip lively.

Mike Lowell, the Red Sox team’s third baseman, organized a dancing competition in order to raise funds for his charity called Mike Lowell Foundation that raises money to fight the dreaded disease, cancer in children. The entire Red Sox team was there in support of their third baseman, Lowell and that night was one of the most amazing and dazzling night for the team as there has never been such fun and frolic before in the Major League arena. Red Sox fans remember Bobby Kielty best for his home run in Game 4 of the 2007 World Series. Now he’s back to play for the Boston Sox, according to announcements made last Wednesday. Kielty has signed up for a one-year non-guaranteed contract with the Red Sox, through which he can earn $800,000 base salary plus $300,000 worth of incentives.
Having Kielty in the team would mean that they would have a backup outfielder in case they successfully traded Coco Crisp. Manny Ramirez, Jacoby Ellsbury, and J.D. Drew will be the Sox’s starting outfield. In Ellsbury’s absence, Drew would become center field and Kielty would go to right.
Kielty is known to hit left-handed pitching, although he mentioned earlier in the season that he would think about exclusively batting right-handed, but he has not confirmed this yet. Kielty boasts of 53 homers and 253 RBIs.
In August 2007, he was taken in by the Red Sox, during which he hit .231 with a home run and 9 RBIs. During his only at-bat in the World Series, he hit a shot that went over the wall and gave Red Sox a 4-1 lead. His hit brought the Red Sox victory over the Rockies with 4-3.

Sean Casey played in a World Series about two short years ago. His team lost in five games and he decided if he could ever get back to the World Series again, he would. So he went and negotiated a one year $800,000 contract with the Red Sox in Boston. He wants that chance at winning as they did last year. On top of that, he is quite happy to be in even a supporting role for the team. So if the manager decides a player needs a rest day, he will send in Casey to play for him.
Casey told the media he has always wanted to play for Boston and he knew coming back to play for their team would get him a shot at being on the best team and winning the World Series again this year. His excitement was very contagious. He is also known as being quite popular among his peers and other baseball players.
He says he knows what he is getting into though and is ready to take the challenge. What it is really about is getting back on the field and bringing home the gold. He just wants more chance to do that. He has a batting average of 0.301 and over one hundred and thirty home runs.
