Catching Dilemma Solved

The Boston Red Sox have solved at least part of the catcher’s problem they were facing. Although nothing has yet been finalized (pending a physical), the Sox are planning to bring back Josh Bard to the catching position for a one year contract at $1.7 million. Bard, a member of the 2006 Red Sox, was released in 2006 due to his problems in catching for knuckleballer Tim Wakefield. However, now facing the possibilities of losing Jason Varitek, it’s open arms for the Sox.
