Beckett’s injury vows
August 2008

Red Sox right hander Josh Beckett has had many injury problems in 2008. He missed most of the spring training due to a lower back injury and now his right hand is giving both him and the team nightmares. He is reportedly feeling numbness in his right hand and would not be able to start against the Toronto Blue Jays. After a couple of days off, he is expected to return for the three game series against the Yankees starting next week. In the meantime, the team is forced to depend to them recently acquired Paul Byrd. Beckett has struggles against the Jays all season including the disastrous show on Sunday in which he gave away 8 runs.
