J.D. Drew was forced to leave Tuesday night’s game with back stiffness just before the 9th inning.  Drew did not start Wednesday and with an off day Thursday, the Red Sox are hoping to have the left hander back in action on Friday.  Boston manager Terry Francona opted to keep Drew out of the lineup for the day game Wednesday as he does not want to make the situation worse for Drew.  Drew’s back has been an issue that began the very first game of the season when he was forced to be taken out of the lineup prior to game.  Drew is having a great season to the enjoyment of Red Sox fans and he was selected to the All-Star game on July 15th.  Fans have been pouring into Fenway to catch their Red Sox pursue another World Series Championship.
